Frequently asked questions

Membership, the merchant directory, Dubai Textile City and how to reach the office — answered in short.

Joining

Membership

Who can join TEXMAS?
TEXMAS is for licensed wholesale textile merchants trading in Dubai — importers, exporters, wholesalers and commercial brokers dealing in fabric and made-up textiles. Your firm needs a valid UAE trade licence covering textile trading.
How do I apply?
Start on the Become a Member page, which sets out who can join and how the application works. The office reviews each application against the membership register before a firm is admitted.
What does membership give me?
Representation with government departments, fair arbitration of disputes between members, access to Dubai Textile City, a listing in the member directory, and the collective weight of the wider trade. The Membership Benefits page covers each in detail.
Finding merchants

The member directory

Why do I have to sign in to see the directory?
You don’t need to be a TEXMAS member to use it — anyone sourcing fabric can create a free account in about a minute. The sign-in is there to protect our members: the directory lists their business contact details, and leaving it open to the public web would expose them to bulk scraping and spam.
How do I find a firm that deals in a particular fabric?
Open the directory and search by firm name, or jump straight to a letter using the A–Z bar. Many listings also show the fabric categories that firm deals in — cotton, chiffon, abaya fabrics, curtains and so on.
My firm is a member — how do I get listed?
Every member firm is already in the directory — there is nothing to sign up for. To add or correct your logo, website and social profiles, email the office at texmas@eim.ae and your listing will be updated.
Can I be removed from the directory?
Yes. Write to the office at texmas@eim.ae and your listing will be amended or withdrawn.
The association

About TEXMAS

Does TEXMAS sell fabric?
No. TEXMAS is a trade association, not a trader. It represents its member firms; the merchants themselves are who you buy from. Use the directory to reach them directly.
What is Dubai Textile City?
A free-zone development built for the textile trade — bonded warehousing, showrooms and on-site customs and immigration services. See the Textile City overview.
How long has TEXMAS existed?
Since 1990. It is the apex body of Dubai’s wholesale textile merchants, and has represented the trade with government and industry ever since.
